Members of the genus Sedum, which is commonly known as stonecrops, belong to the family Crassulaceae. The genus was once estimated to contain more than 600 species, but has recently been reduced to 400–500 species.
Two succulents are known by the same common names: Sedum Burrito (Burro’s Tail) and Sedum Morganianum (Donkey Tail).
